Dr. Ellen Phenicie-Schulz Collection

 

Dr. Ellen Phenicie-Schulz attended the American School of Osteopathy in Kirksville, Missouri from 1917 to 1919. She transferred and soon graduated from Des Moines Still College of Osteopathy (now Des Moines University) in May 1920. She practiced OB-GYN surgery and family medicine in Des Moines for most of her career.

Dr. Phenicie-Schulz was one of two women in her graduating class of 12 students. She remained at Still College for an extra year (1920-1921) training as a post-graduate student. During her post-graduate year she held the position of Assistant Gynecologist. She was also a member of the Axis Club.
