Description
This presentation will review safe and effective pain treatment, how to support recovery from opioid use disorder and avoid relapse in patients with OUD, and how to avoid personal and public health consequences of opioid use disorder. Participants will be introduced to the general principles of effective pain treatment in patients with OUD, how to treat pain safely and effectively, how to address pain facilitators and opioid use disorder, and when to say ‘no’ to a request for long-term opioid therapy.
