Abstract

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) significantly impairs the lives of veterans, affecting their mental health, relationships, and ability to function in daily life. Traditional treatment modalities are often effective but may not fully address the complex needs of all patients. Service dog use has increased in recent years as they have proven to be invaluable resources for a growing range of disabilities. The role of service dogs as a complementary PTSD therapy has received attention due to their potential to provide physical, emotional, and psychological support.
