Abstract
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide and a leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women, especially those over 40.
Approximately 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
Due to its high prevalence, early detection is critical to improving survival and treatment outcomes.
SBEs are underutilized due to: Lack of knowledge or confidence in performing the exam
Educational interventions can:
Increase awareness and accuracy of SBE practice
Empower individuals to take an active role in their breast health
Serve as a vital screening tool, especially for those under 40 or in low-resource settings
Objective:
Highlight the importance of SBE.
Evaluate educational programs promoting it.
Identify barriers and propose strategies for improvement.
