Abstract

Rashes have consistently been challenging to diagnose for primary care and family medicine providers

The similarities between benign rashes and cutaneous manifestations of rheumatologic conditions like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), psoriatic arthritis, and dermatomyositis have been overlooked

Despite the continued development of screening tools and diagnostic advances; their reliability remains limited and use is unstandardized

It’s important to investigate the implications of poorly taken HPIs, lack of provider familiarity with pathognomonic presentations of these conditions and how it impacts patient outcomes
